ADDITIONAL CONTENTS

Surrounding area is rich in archaeological localities and monuments. Remains of old fortification are still visible on the hill Drid, a strategic point from the antique era. Today, a small church of the St. Mary of Drid (Our Lady of Snow) is still used for religious ordinances. The picture of St. Mary of Drid has been moved to the island of Ciovos Franciscan monastery when the area was abandoned for Turk attacks. It is important to mention the Archaeology park Stari Trogir (protected area), Roman quarries Vela and Mala Petlara, Voluja and Jamurine in Vinišće as well as the chapel of St Philipp and Jacob in the cave Grota (Italian: grotta – cave) with the picture of unknown painter from 17th century. Marinas most distinctive building is the 1495 Bishops tower (Kula) – that use to be completely in the sea and was used as a hideout for all inhabitants during the Turk attacks. Town was renamed from Bosiljina to Marina after the church of St Marina built in 1500 placed at the location Mandraća. One can enjoy sports activities on the sea, such as sailing, diving or fishing, as well as lovely foot paths and cycling trough the hills. Chartering a boat gives you the opportunity to explore the wonders of nature. During the summer in Marina and the surrounding villages one can experience local festivities as well as art exhibitions. Vicinity of UNESCO protected Trogir, Split and beautiful Primošten gives you opportunity to explore history of this area 2000 years to the past, as well as to have fun in one of the popular clubs. You can access Marina by road, air or sea. The municipality is situated next to the Adriatic coastal highway (D8) which connects the southern section of Croatia to its hinterland. If you're arriving from the north, take the D1 highway from Zagreb via Karlovac, Gračac, Knin and Drniš – this will lead you directly to Marina. And if you're coming from Italy, you should take the Adriatic coastal highway via Rijeka, Senj, Zadar and Šibenik. If you prefer air travel, “Resnik” airport is just 15 km away from Marina. From Marina, the city of Split is only 40 km away. Split is extremely well-connected to the rest of Europe. In the city center there is a bustling bus station, train station and a harbor. Split is also accessible by sea. You may choose to take a ferry line from Rijeka, Zadar or Dubrovnik (along the coast) or abroad from Ancona, Pescara, Bari or Venice

Rudana 46, 50 m from Villa Petra is opened Monday to Saturday from 07,00-21,00 and on Sundays 07,00-20,00. In the town center same company has a small store. Ribola is a store placed in the northern part of the town. Since one must cross the main road to get there, it is advisable to use the passage under the road.
