A beautiful town and tourist center of famous Makarska Riviera,
extending from Brela on the west to the Gradac on the east in 60 km of
length. It consists of old Mediterranean style town and the more recent
part that adorn modern hotels, apartments, rooms, villas and campsites.
Above
Makarska there is mountain Biokovo which is 1981. declared as a nature
park. The highest peak is st. Jure, 1762 m tall. This mountain is ideal
for mountaineers, hikers, bicyclists, and those who want to drink cold
spring water in hot summer days.

adrenaline tourism will find solace in the white water rafting on the
Cetina river. Tourists can also enjoy other sports like tennis, soccer,
